Singing is Your Birthright
Talk given at TEDxMinneapolisSalon 2016

About the Talk
Ariella Forstein, professional Songstress & Vocal Empowerment Coach shows us how everyone can sing, and that the act of learning to accept, and love your voice, and also your whole self, enables true self-confidence and well being to soar.'
You don’t need to be a performer, opera singer, professional speaker or even a pop star to have a voice. The vibration of our vocal chords reverberates throughout our body, and we all have a voice to be freed. Ariella helps people move through emotional and mental blocks about their fear and anxiety of sharing their voice with the world.

About Ariella
I’ve performed on over 400 stages, but my love for music began long before I ever set foot on one. As a baby, I’d stand in my crib late at night, cooing—and my grandmother would laugh, saying, "Club Ariella’s open!"
From those early moments, my voice became my way to express myself. I trained for my Bat Mitzvah with the Cantor, who introduced me to cantorial melodies, and my public school choir director encouraged me to take voice lessons, leading me to excel in state competitions. Despite my shyness, I found liberation on stage and knew this was my calling.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance from The Ohio State University, with a thesis in Ethnomusicology, inspired by my studies in Ghana, West Africa. From there, I moved to L.A., where I founded the world music band Yeh Dede and collaborated with musicians like Moira Smiley & VOCO, and The Yuval Ron Ensemble, touring the country. I've also had the privilege of singing on some beautiful film scores.
